Michaela Cook - publicly known as Micks - is an Australian songwriter, recording artist and social media personality. Her music and media influence is consciously used by the songstress as a vehicle to help others. Micks achieves this by collaborating with charity organisations such as, The White Ribbon Foundation, The Variety Children’s Foundation, Tourism and Events Queensland, as well as being a proud RSPCA Media Ambassador.

Over the last five years, Micks has released eight singles and accompanying music videos that have appeared on the Australian and United States Official iTunes Charts, alongside receiving International Radio Airplay across South America and the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Most recently, Micks' 2020 single release, 'Taking Back My Crown,' achieved a multi-day #1 Country Single and #1 Music Video ALL GENRE iTunes charting positions. The single's music video and release was in partnership with Harley-Davidson Australia and Gasoline Alley Brisbane.


Notably in June 2017, Micks with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) released a music video dedicated to The Whitsundays Region, recovering from Ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie. TEQ used the music video as a unique medium to showcase the beauty of the Whitsundays Region by choosing Micks’ large International based audience as a promotion tool. The video achieved enormous success by reaching #1 (Australia) and #7 (United States) on the iTunes ALL GENRES Music Video Charts, and winning “Best Video” at the Country People Choice Awards during the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2018.

With over 174,000+ followers between social media platforms Facebook (86K) and Instagram (88K), Micks is one of the highest socially followed Australian Female Country Artist. Alongside music promotions, Micks uses her following for supporting various non-for-profit organisations and collaborating with brands as a content creator/influencer. Since March 2020, she has worked with Secrets Shh, Synergie Skin and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, adding to her long resume of brand ambassadorships from varying consumer industries.

Beginning her media career as a child commercial model, Micks has continued her on-screen appearances with performing live on several National television shows and recently appearing on, performing and hosting Channel 7’s, “The Great Day Out”.

Apart from playing music, Micks enjoys living an active and outdoor lifestyle. She graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Communications and is continually writing and recording new material to share with her loyal supporters.


Micks' passion is songwriting and aims to write the lyrics and melodies to every track she releases - her songs are based on life events.
