Michaela Cook - publicly known as Micks - is an Australian songwriter, recording artist and social media personality. Her music and media influence is consciously used by the songstress as a vehicle to help others. Micks achieves this by collaborating with charity organisations such as: The White Ribbon Foundation; The Variety Children’s Foundation; Tourism and Events Queensland; as well as being a proud RSPCA Media Ambassador.
Over the last six years, Micks has released eight official singles that have appeared on the Australian and United States iTunes Charts. These singles also received International Radio Airplay in The United States, Australia, The United Kingdom, South America and Europe.
In June 2017, Micks partnered with Tourism and Events Queensland to release a music video dedicated to The Whitsundays Region following Ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie. Micks was able to support the rebuild by providing positive exposure to her diverse fan base through her range of media channels. The song and accompanying music video was a beacon of hope in a perilous time for the Northern Queensland Community. The video achieved enormous success by reaching #1 (Australia) and #7 (United States) on the iTunes ALL GENRES Music Video Charts, and winning “Best Video” at the Country People Choice Awards during the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2018.
With over 150,000+ followers across her social media platforms – dominantly Facebook (75K) and Instagram (80K) – Micks is the highest socially followed Australian Female Country Artist. Micks uses her following to help support various non-for-profit organisations and collaborates with brands as a content creator/influencer. She has cultivated a diverse range of brand ambassadorships from multiple consumer industries such as Tic-Tac, Spotify and Jeep. As of September 2019, Micks became the face of Synergie Skin, featuring in their European/Australian 2020 Campaign.
Micks entered the media industry at a young age modelling for brands such as Mattel Inc®. In more recent years, Micks has appeared on numerous live National Television shows with most recently performing and hosting Channel 7’s, “TheGreat Day Out”.
Away from music, Micks enjoys living a healthy, active and outdoor lifestyle. She graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Communications and is continually writing and recording new material to share with her loyal supporters. #TeamMICKS
